Nelson is a G2 PhD student in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering. He graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in automated system and controls from the University of Notre Dame. He currently works with NASA on developing novel soft robot systems for performing sample capture and in-situ analysis in space environments. Nelson is born and raised in Moca, Puerto Rico.
